2017 Trunk or Treat a Success

2017 Trunk or Treat a Success

Garden City’s 2017 Spooktacular Trunk or Treat was a roaring success as more than 2,000 trick or treaters and their parents thronged to the Towne Center parking lot on Thursday, October 26.

It was our largest one yet with 2500+ kids and at least 4000 total with parents, with 64 trunks (up from last year’s 59).

The event was co-hosted by the Garden City Downtown Development Authority and the Garden City Business Alliance.

“It was a fantastic night,” said GCBA President Kerry Partin. “I can’t thank all the volunteers and participants enough for making this such a wonderful event.”

Michigan Massage Featured in Michigan Homes

Owner of Michigan Massage Professionals Barbara McConnell enjoyed a full-featured write up in Michigan Homes. They explored the healthful benefits of massage and the positive effect it has on stress. “Experts estimate that upwards of 90 percent of disease is stress-related,” McConnell said. “And perhaps, nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress.”

Points to Ponder From the Growth Coach

Points to Ponder From the Growth Coach

This Week’s Top Three Points to Ponder

1.) Influence Matters: Our influence over others always trumps our authority over others.

2.) Internal Competition: In the long run, our race is not solely against our competitors, but rather against ourselves and the fears and limited beliefs threatening to trip us up.

3.) Imagination All Grown Up: Bringing a child-like sense of wonder, curiosity, and imagination into the grown-up world of business might be one of the most mature things we can do.

The President’s Report

The President’s Report

By Kerry Partin,
Our very first GCBA newsletter is complete. Join me in thanking Vice-President Kelly Perkins in doing such a great job! Check it out!
As Kelly stated in a previous email, this will be a bi-monthly newsletter, so please feel free to send her items to include in the May/June edition. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated. You can contact Kelly at guardian@guardianmartialarts.com.
Also for those of you who have not signed up for Remind, I would hope that you consider doing so. It’s a great way to keep in touch with our members and to push out information to them. You can signup here, https://www.remind.com. I actually sent out an invite twice earlier this month to all of you. Please check your emails and spam box.
I will also be sending out a reminder email just before our meeting, and also the agenda when Kelly has it ready.
